Our high quality D - 403 microphone cable has been especially designed bearing professional recording applications in mind that require rugged though flexible microphone cabling to be run along wide distances whilst exhibiting low signal losses and allowing the freedom to utilise an extra powerline.
The D - 403 is highly suited to be used in the main microphone line-up in e.g. classical recording.

The D - 403’s 3 internal signal lines each consist of 36 x 0.10 mm. very high grade OFC strands covered with a dense coating of pure silver.
Each lead is insulated with cell-PE. The lead colours are pink, white and white with a transparent foil.
Artificial fibers are used to reduce internal losses and to make this cable very insensitive to humidity during a long period of use.
The shielding is constructed by 216 high quality OFC wires with a very dense coating of pure silver and a specially treated aluminium foil.
The capacitance between the signal lines is an extremely low 27 pF/meter.
The resistance per signal line is 6.1 Ohm/100 meter and the shielding presents a value of 0.2 Ohm/100 meter.
The grey coloured outer jacket is made of a very flexible migration-free material to produce a long-standing quality.
The external diameter is 9.15 mm.

Due to the D - 403’s very low 27 pF/m. capacitance and its specially treated internal fibers, the internal losses are extremely low. This greatly improves the recording’s definition and depth of image, meaning that the number of microphones involved in the recording can be reduced; practical experiments during the CD recording of a big military brass-band showed that by using the D - 403 the amount of condenser microphones could be reduced from 20 to 4, just leaving the main XY AB line-up. And that works well when we talk about the total budget of the recording.

The D - 403 is available on 100 meter bundles.
Shipping: 1 x 100 m. bundle in a 320 x 320 x 220 mm. box with a total shipping weight of 9.79 kg.
When shipped on 100 m. bundles, the cable ends are sealed with caps.
